🏰The 2015 Burgundy vintage for whites was a warm year, producing wines that are often described as generous and exuberant, with ripe fruit and good acidity. Henri Germain's Meursault Charmes 1er Cru 2015, from a vintage that delivered wines with volume on the palate and sometimes warming alcohol, still retains a classic Burgundy flavor profile. Expect a wine with 【ripe apple, white peach, and a refreshing acidity】 running through the palate, avoiding the overtly tropical notes that can sometimes characterize warm vintages.
🍴 This rich and elegant Meursault is a superb match for classic French cuisine such as roasted turbot with beurre blanc, chicken in cream sauce, or a rich seafood gratin. For an Asian-inspired pairing, consider pan-fried scallops with XO sauce or a delicate steamed fish with ginger and spring onion.
🥂 Perfect for a special occasion dinner, a gathering of wine lovers, or as a luxurious accompaniment to a gourmet meal. This wine is drinking beautifully now but also has the potential for further graceful aging.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Henri Germain is located in the village of Meursault in Burgundy, France. The primary grape varieties cultivated are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The estate was founded in 1973 when Henri Germain purchased some Meursault vineyards from his wife's family, the Pillots, and acquired additional land in Chassagne. Currently, the domaine owns around 7 hectares of land, spread across Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Beaune.
