Jacques Frederic Mugnier, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru, 2021
🏰 The 2021 vintage in Burgundy was notably challenging, marked by severe spring frosts that led to a significant reduction in harvest volumes, averaging 60% down across the region. Despite these difficulties, the musts surprised many with exceptional crispness and stellar freshness. The resulting wines, including this Bonnes Mares Grand Cru, are expected to unveil a classic and well-balanced profile, offering airy textures and lovely drinkability, a refreshing departure from the more 'solar' character of the preceding three vintages. While specific tasting notes for this exact wine and vintage are still emerging, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is renowned for its powerful and structured Pinot Noir expression. 【From a challenging 2021 Burgundy Grand Cru vintage showing exceptional freshness】.
🍴 This elegant and complex red Burgundy would be a superb match for classic meat dishes such as roasted lamb, a perfectly seared rib-eye steak, or rich game birds. It also pairs beautifully with mature, earthy cheeses.
🥂 This wine is a sophisticated choice for a celebratory dinner, a special anniversary, or a serious wine tasting event with fellow enthusiasts. Its inherent elegance and potential for graceful evolution make it ideal for occasions where a fine, complex red wine is truly appreciated.
