Armand Rousseau, Ruchottes Chambertin Clos Des Ruchottes Grand Cru, 2017
🏰 From Domaine Armand Rousseau, one of Burgundy's most famous estates, this 2017 Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru is a rare monopole expression, revered for its unearthly Pinot Noir, showcasing supreme elegance with remarkable focus and balance. This wine displays a good dense color, with a very red fruity bouquet, soaring with red plums, red and black cherries, a touch of raspberry, raw cocoa, complex soil tones, woodsmoke, and vanillin oak. The palate offers a wonderful balance and mineralité, with a discreet ferrous note in the background, merging with dark plummy fruit towards a sapid finish, hints of fig coming through with time, spicy, with impressive grip and persistence. The 2017 Burgundy vintage is noted more for balance and classical proportions than excess weight, making this a seriously fine Grand Cru.
🍴 Pair this magnificent wine with roasted game birds, duck breast with cherry sauce, truffle-infused dishes, or fine cheeses like Epoisses or Comté.
🥂 An exceptional choice for special celebrations, a luxurious fine dining experience, or a serious Burgundy tasting among connoisseurs.
