🏰 Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier's 2018 Musigny Grand Cru is one of Burgundy's most coveted and rarest wines, marrying the perfume and silk of Chambolle with Grand Cru depth and length, creating a wine of almost weightless intensity. Born from a sunny vintage, this Pinot Noir required precise harvest dates to achieve a perfect balance of density and freshness. The nose opens with an exquisite bouquet of rose petals, peony, violet, morello cherry, raspberry, and a touch of blood orange, evolving to reveal graphite, blond tobacco, and subtle cocoa. On the palate, it offers a velvety density with ripe red and black fruits, supported by a very fine chalky structure and tight, silky tannins, leading to a very long, fresh, and mouthwatering finish with sweet spices, cherry pit, and a characteristic hint of flint.
🍴 This exceptional Grand Cru pairs beautifully with refined dishes such as duck, goose, or other game birds.
🥂 A truly exceptional and rare occasion wine, perfect for a milestone celebration or as a gift for the most discerning collector. This wine is very youthful and built for the very long haul; give it serious cellar time, ideally enjoying it after 2035. Decanting for about 4 hours is recommended.
