Coquard Loison Fleurot, Clos De La Roche Grand Cru, 2017
🏰 Coquard Loison Fleurot Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2017 is a highly sought-after Burgundy, known for its 【exceptional purity, depth, and potential for long-term aging】. The 2017 vintage in Burgundy was generally considered very good, producing elegant and charming wines with good fruit and freshness, particularly for reds. Clos de la Roche, a Grand Cru vineyard, consistently yields powerful yet refined Pinot Noir. Expect a wine that beautifully expresses its terroir, with a complex bouquet of red and dark fruits, floral notes, and a distinct minerality, supported by a firm but integrated tannic structure.
🍴 This magnificent Grand Cru Burgundy deserves equally refined food pairings. Classic choices include roasted game birds like pheasant or partridge, duck breast with a cherry reduction, or a delicate beef tenderloin. Mushroom-based dishes, especially those with truffles, would also be a sublime match. For cheese, consider an aged Epoisses or a rich, earthy Comté.
🥂 An ideal wine for a truly special occasion, a significant anniversary, or a serious Burgundy tasting. Its elegance and complexity make it a centerpiece for any gourmet meal. This wine has excellent aging potential, allowing it to develop further nuances over many years. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F) after decanting for 1-2 hours to allow its intricate aromas to fully emerge.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot is a wine estate located in Burgundy that produces wine entirely from Pinot Noir. Until recently, these wines were rarely exported, but current commercial director Claire Fleurot and winemaker Thomas Colladot have changed that. Under their guidance, the winery’s reputation has grown significantly. The total vineyard area is approximately 9 hectares (22 acres) spread over 6 different Grand Cru vineyards.
