🏰From the respected Coquard Loison Fleurot, this 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin is a 【charming and fruit-forward red 布根地 (Burgundy)】 from a generally well-received vintage. Gevrey-Chambertin wines are renowned for their power, structure, and often 'masculine' character. This wine offers a bouquet of 【ripe red and dark berries, intertwined with earthy undertones and savory notes】. The palate is medium to full-bodied with firm yet integrated tannins and good acidity, promising both immediate enjoyment and further evolution.
🍴 This classic red 布根地 (Burgundy) is a superb match for roasted duck, game birds like pheasant, or a hearty beef bourguignon. For an Eastern pairing, consider a rich Cantonese braised beef or a flavorful mushroom and truffle hotpot.
🥂 Perfect for a cozy dinner with friends or a special occasion that calls for a classic, expressive red. While approachable now, decant for 1-2 hours to allow its full spectrum of aromas and flavors to emerge. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
BACKGROUND
Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot is a wine estate located in Burgundy that produces wine entirely from Pinot Noir. Until recently, these wines were rarely exported, but current commercial director Claire Fleurot and winemaker Thomas Colladot have changed that. Under their guidance, the winery’s reputation has grown significantly. The total vineyard area is approximately 9 hectares (22 acres) spread over 6 different Grand Cru vineyards.
