🏰 The 2022 Joseph Drouhin Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a 【revelation of Burgundian elegance, showcasing the exceptional balance and freshness of a promising young vintage】. This Pinot Noir offers intense aromas of black cherry and fresh raspberry, intertwined with violet, liquorice, and a saline, chalky minerality. On the palate, it presents a silky attack with precise, elegant tannins and lively acidity, leading to an ample, full-bodied, and fresh finish with significant aging potential.
🍴 This exquisite Grand Cru pairs beautifully with prime meats such as filet mignon, roasted game birds, or venison. It's also perfect with truffle dishes or a classic coq au vin. For cheese lovers, consider aged Comté or Époisses.
🥂 An ideal choice for a celebratory dinner, a special occasion with discerning guests, or for cellaring to enjoy its evolving complexity in the years to come. Serve between 16-18°C (60-64°F) in a Burgundy glass.
BACKGROUND
Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy's most important wine producers, France. The primary grape variety is Pinot Noir, with a small portion being Chardonnay. Founded in Beaune in 1880, the domaine has expanded throughout the 20th Century to include vineyards in Chablis, the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise, making everything from simple, village-level cuvées to highly priced grand cru and premier cru wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
