Lignier Michelot, Clos De La Roche Grand Cru, 2004
🏰 Lignier-Michelot's Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2004 is a powerful and age-worthy red Burgundy from one of Morey-Saint-Denis' most esteemed Grand Crus. The 2004 vintage in Burgundy was generally considered a good, classic vintage, producing wines with good acidity and structure, often requiring time to fully develop. Clos de la Roche is known for its intensely colored, full-bodied, and firm Pinot Noir, with a ripe fragrance and a superior structure that lends itself to aging for 15 to 20 years or more. Expect aromas of ripe red and black fruit, wild cherry, huckleberry, rose, along with spices, tobacco, humid wood, walnut, and truffle. The palate is rich and well-balanced, robust yet crisp, with an intense and flavorful finish of candied fruit and spices. 【Powerful Age-Worthy Grand Cru】
🍴 This Grand Cru Burgundy demands noble dishes. It pairs wonderfully with venison steak, pheasant, truffle-infused beef dishes, or dry-aged meats. It also complements red meats in red wine sauce, game, and ripe or full-flavored cheeses.
🥂 An exceptional choice for a significant celebration, a formal dinner, or as a prestigious gift for a serious wine collector. Its complexity and aging potential make it a wine to be savored and discussed, perfect for a contemplative tasting among connoisseurs.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Lignier-Michelot is a wine producer based in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits sub-region of Burgundy, producing a range of red Pinot-based wines from the Morey appellation itself and neighboring village. The owners, the Lignier family, have been growing vines in Morey-Saint-Denis since the early 20th century, but sold the grapes each vintage to négociants until 1992, when they began bottling some of their own wine. The winery has just over eight hectares (20 acres) of vines, many of which are highly regarded Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards, such as the Grand Cru Clos de la Roche.
