Chateau De La Tour, Clos Vougeot Hommage Morin Grand Cru, 2012
🏰The 2012 Chateau de la Tour Clos Vougeot Hommage Morin Grand Cru is a 【superbly dense and imposingly scaled Pinot Noir】 from one of Clos de Vougeot's oldest parcels, offering seemingly endless reserves of mouth-coating extract. This Grand Cru reveals a concentrated bouquet of 【black cherry and blackberry with licorice, cocoa, smoke, and wet-stone minerality】, complemented by spice, menthol, and oak-tinged aromas. The palate is opulent and framed by firm, refined tannins, leading to an intensely long, brambly finish, showcasing a beautiful balance and polished structure.
🍴 This powerful red Burgundy is an ideal match for classic dishes like roast beef, beef bourguignon, venison, or duck confit. It also pairs wonderfully with truffle-infused mushroom risotto or aged hard cheeses.
🥂 An exceptional choice for a grand celebration, a serious wine tasting, or a significant addition to a fine wine cellar, promising ample rewards for extended cellaring.
BACKGROUND
Domaine de la Tour was co-founded in 1890 by the LABET family and the "Daisel family". His ancestors have been farming in Bugenda since the late 15th century and are currently the largest owners of the 15-hectare family estate Clos de Vougeot. A total of 6 hectares of vineyards represent 12% of Clos de Vougeot. Most of the vineyards are located on ideal mid-slope sites, which are rocky and well-drained, making them the best growing environment for grapevines. They are all top quality plots.
