🏰【From the legendary Domaine Ramonet, this 2013 Bourgogne Pinot Noir offers an approachable yet refined expression of Burgundy's elegant red wines.】 While Ramonet is primarily celebrated for its exceptional Chardonnays, this Pinot Noir showcases the family's meticulous vineyard management and traditional winemaking, even in a more accessible style. The 2013 vintage provides a classic quality with a bright red fruit profile. On the nose, expect notes of red plum, cranberry, black cherry, tobacco, and forest floor, with hints of strawberry and blackcurrant leaf. The palate is light to medium-bodied, fresh, and juicy, with well-balanced low tannins and a medium-plus length finish, culminating in an earthy, mineral character.
🍴 This versatile Pinot Noir pairs wonderfully with a range of dishes. Consider classic pairings like roasted chicken, aged Burgundy cheeses, or even heartier options such as rack of lamb with herbs or beef bourguignon.
🥂 Ideal for casual gatherings, dinner parties with friends, or as a delightful introduction to the elegant red wines from a highly respected Burgundian producer.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Ramonet is a prominent wine producer in the Burgundy appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, France. Ramonet owns more than 15 hectares (37 acres) of vineyards. The primary grape variety is Chardonnay, with a small amount of Pinot Noir also planted. The estate's most important wines are made from Chardonnay from the area's grand cru vineyards, and are highly collectible, often selling for high prices at auction. Domaine Ramonet makes several red wines from Pinot Noir as well. Domaine Ramonet is now run by Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, following the death of their father Pierre in the mid-1990s.
