Du Comte Liger-belair, Vosne Romanee Aux Reignots 1er Cru, 2013
🏰 The 2013 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne Romanee Aux Reignots 1er Cru is a 【portrait of precision and grace from a challenging yet rewarding Burgundy vintage】, considered one of the best Aux Reignots in recent years. Despite an erratic growing season, meticulous vineyard management yielded a wine of vibrant resilience. It offers plenty of primary red berry fruit on the nose, with pure mulberry and maraschino cherry notes, alongside mineral-infused dark berries and a floral touch. The palate shows wondrous delineation and tension, with layers of dark fruit balanced by fine acidity and salty minerality, leading to silken textures and perfumed finesse. This wine requires plenty of years in the cellar to fully unfold its complexity.
🍴 This elegant Burgundy Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roasted chicken, duck breast with berry sauce, mushroom risotto, coq au vin, or delicate charcuterie. It also complements mild, earthy cheeses.
🥂 An exceptional choice for Burgundy connoisseurs and collectors, perfect for a special occasion dinner or a significant addition to a long-term cellar. Its investment potential is notable.
Serving Suggestion: For this mature 2013 vintage, allow the bottle to stand upright for a day before opening. A gentle decant for 1-2 hours can help it open up, but be mindful of very old corks and potential sediment. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
BACKGROUND
Founded in 2000, Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair is a relatively new wine producer in Burgundy, but the Liger-Belair family has experience in vineyards since 1815. . It is now managed by Louis-Michel Liguet, Comte de Belaire, who has begun planting vineyards again in Vonn-Romagne and Saint-Georges. Comte Liger-Belair now produces its only wine from La Romanée, a Grand Cru vineyard located on the Romanée-Conti hills. The domaine also owns land in several Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru vineyards. Although the domaine is young, its wines are elegantly structured and highly sought after. La Romanée is one of the most expensive wines produced in Burgundy.
