Laurent Perrier, Grande Cuvee Alexandra Rose, 2007
🏰 Laurent-Perrier's Grande Cuvee Alexandra Rose is a rare and cherished prestige cuvee, an exceptional marriage of Grand Cru Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, known for its elegance and complexity. The 2007 Champagne vintage was challenging, with an unusually warm spring followed by a cool, damp summer. Conditions improved in late August/September, allowing for a fair crop, with Chardonnay outperforming Pinot Noir. The best wines are typically high in acidity and restrainedly classic. This Champagne presents a pale salmon pink with an orange tinge. It is complex and powerful, with aromas reminiscent of strawberry jam, followed by floral notes such as rose petal. Lively and crisp, with dominant flavors of red berry fruit like wild strawberries. Full-bodied, with a velvety texture and a finale showing hints of dried apricots and orange peel.
🍴 Ideal with rich fish (salmon, tuna), mild and soft cheese, shellfish, lobster, game birds, goat cheese, and fresh berries. Also pairs well with sushi, marinated fish, grilled prawns, Parma ham with fruit, and even Indian and Asian dishes.
🥂 A magnificent choice for a romantic celebration, a luxurious brunch, or a sophisticated aperitif.
