FEATURES
🏰 Krug Rosé 29ème Édition is a non-vintage Champagne crafted around the harvest of 2017, meticulously blended with 29 other wines from five different years, with the oldest dating back to 2010. Reserve wines constitute a significant 33% of the final blend, contributing to its complexity. The composition is predominantly Pinot Noir (53%, including 11% traditionally macerated red wines), complemented by 28% Chardonnay and 19% Meunier. The 2017 vintage provides a vibrant acidity and a profound fruit core, showcasing Krug's ability to create a rosé of immediate depth and vinosity even from challenging years by leveraging its extensive reserve library.
Visually, this Champagne displays a deep salmon hue with coppery highlights. The nose is expressive, offering aromas of red fruit salad, raspberries, strawberries, juicy cherries, and toasty notes. Further aromatic layers include grapefruit zest, redcurrant, apple tart, a subtle hint of Sichuan pepper, and rosewood oil. On the palate, fruit harmonizes with pastry notes of raspberry charlotte and ladyfingers. Flavors evolve from sumptuous, jammy notes of dried plums to fresh, elegant citrus fruits like blood orange, culminating in a finish with elegant bitters of pink grapefruit. It delivers a silky and enveloping experience, with a medium to full body and a vinous texture. Notes of toasted brioche, fresh nectarine, white strawberries, cardamom, and saline also emerge.
🥂 Krug Rosé is versatile enough to replace a good red wine at the table. It is highly recommended for its ability to combine aromatic complexity with charming freshness and depth, making it suitable for both gastronomic recipes and simple pleasures. Its expressive and open character ensures it drinks beautifully right from release.
🍴 This rosé pairs exceptionally well with savory, flavorful dishes such as game or spicy recipes. It is not recommended with sweet desserts. Consider pairing it with wild boar tenderloin, charred cauliflower tacos with romesco salsa, grilled sardines, vegetable and jalapeño quiche, or Brittany Lobster with Filo Pastry & Harissa.
