🏰 The 2023 Anne Gros Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru is a 【Burgundy of pure pleasure, offering charm, ripeness, and early drinkability】 from a vintage that was overall the hottest on record but balanced. The 2023 Burgundy vintage, for reds, produced surprisingly concentrated, aromatic, and perfumed wines with clean, pure red or blue berries and pronounced floral notes. This young Grand Cru, matured in around 60% new oak, presents a very well-defined bouquet with a mixture of red and black fruit, forest floor, and light graphite scents. There's a touch of herbaceousness and a slight caramel note from the wood. The palate is medium-bodied with a ripe veneer of red fruit, sucrosity, and a tighter, sterner finish, showcasing impressive length despite its youth.
🍴 This vibrant young red Burgundy pairs beautifully with dishes that echo its freshness without overpowering it. Think roasted chicken or guinea fowl with herbs, duck breast with a cherry reduction, or a delicate mushroom risotto. It also complements charcuterie boards, lamb, and game birds.
🥂 An exciting wine for collectors to acquire and observe its evolution, or for those who appreciate the vibrancy of young Grand Cru Burgundy. It's perfect for a special occasion or a sophisticated dinner. While enjoyable now, it has significant aging potential. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
