FEATURES
🏰【A monumental Pauillac 2eme Cru Classe from a highly acclaimed vintage, offering exceptional intensity, elegance, and decades of aging potential.】 The 2018 vintage was characterized by moderate winter temperatures, regular rainfall, followed by a mild spring and a very hot, dry summer. High temperatures and water stress were optimum for anthocyanic richness and early ripening of tannins. The 2018 offering forms an enigmatic chapter, revealing how adversity can be transmuted into artistry, marked by climatic paradoxes from hail to drought. The blend is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot. It was aged 18 months in barriques, 80% new. Production represents 50% of the harvest. This wine reveals a dark garnet color. The precise and delicate nose offers notes of fresh fruit, black berries, and spices. The attack is mellow, generous, rounded, and juicy, developing powerful, well-blended tannins. The body is structured with silky, racy tannins. The finish is tasty, full, fleshy, and harmonious. It is built to last through the decades, while retaining elegance and distinction. Black fruit flavors and spicy hints are prominent. It is very deep purple-black colored, with notions of baked raspberries, blueberry coulis, creme de cassis, incense, lilacs, truffles, damp soil, and garrigue. Full-bodied, voluptuous, and seductive, the palate reveals layer upon layer of savory, earthy, and black fruit preserves, framed by wonderfully ripe, velvety tannins and lovely freshness. It is a deep and dark young wine with blackberries and blueberries, firm and very silky tannins, and a vivid finish. Aromas of blackcurrants, blueberries, ash, and cedar with hints of conifer. Full-bodied, yet so tight and refined with polished, toned tannins that are creamy and compact with a silky texture. Savory notes of black olives, sauteed herbs, chargrill, and beef dripping, over a core of creme de cassis and stewed plums.
