🏰 The 2011 Faiveley Gevrey Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru is a testament to the 【resurgence of Domaine Faiveley under a new generation】, producing Burgundy of the very highest order. The 2011 vintage in Burgundy saw a dry spring leading to thick-skinned grapes, followed by a rainy summer, resulting in an early harvest. This red Burgundy displays a deep ruby hue with an intense and complex nose of red fruits, toast, and subtle roasted notes. While some critics initially found it lacking vigor with a touch of under-ripeness and tough tannins, others praised its beautiful lifted nose of red cherry and bramble fruits, seamless palate, and lovely pepper spice finish. With age, it has developed more depth, showing dark red fruit, herbal, and forest floor notes, with refined, balanced, and well-integrated tannins.
🍴 This powerful yet elegant red Burgundy is an excellent companion for hearty dishes. Consider pairing it with duck ragu, roasted game, beef bourguignon, or strong, aged cheeses. Its structure and fruit concentration can stand up to rich flavors.
🥂 An ideal choice for a special dinner, a gathering of Burgundy lovers, or a moment to appreciate a mature and evolving Premier Cru. It's drinking well now and will continue to offer pleasure over the coming years.
