🏰 The 2011 Burgundy vintage is celebrated for its elegance, purity, and clear expression of terroir, offering wines that whisper rather than shout. [cite: 3 from previous output] While specific notes for Coche Dury 2011 are rare, Volnay 1er Cru wines are typically known for their finesse and aromatic complexity. Expect a wine with potential notes of 【violet, fresh sweet cherry, and subtle minerality, evolving with age into more savory and earthy undertones】.
🍴 This elegant Volnay 1er Cru pairs beautifully with delicate poultry dishes like roasted guinea fowl, pan-seared duck breast, or truffle-infused pasta. For an Eastern pairing, consider Cantonese steamed chicken with mushrooms or light dim sum.
🥂 Ideal for a romantic dinner, a sophisticated tasting event, or a quiet evening appreciating a fine Burgundy.
BACKGROUND
Coche-Dury, headquartered in Meursault, Burgundy, is famous for its highly collectible Chardonnay white wine. In fact, Coche-Dury’s Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru wine is consistently ranked among the 100 most expensive wines on Wine-Searcher. The total land area of Coche-Dury is just over 9 hectares (22 acres), about half of which is within Meursault. Coche-Dury's only Grand Cru wine is Corton-Charlemagne, but several other wines from the domaine are also of particular importance. The Premier Cru wines from the Les Charmes and Les Perrières vineyards in Meursault are among the most expensive wines in the Côte de Beaune, while the Coche-Dury in Meursault is one of the most popular.
