🏰 The 2015 vintage was an excellent year for 布根地 (Burgundy), generally producing wines of high quality and good concentration.
This Jean-Claude Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet Clos de la Boudriotte Rouge 1er Cru from 2015 displays a light brick red colour, very clear and bright. The primary fruit is somewhat reduced, with light red berries prevailing, while barnyard and sous bois notes are more prevalent. It retains good acidity and some tannins, offering a light yet intense palate with plenty of red berries, a feminine minerality, and a lengthy finish. Reviewers have noted its super clean, placid red fruit character, and that it has aged nicely, showing red fruit and sous bois. Some find it intense and muscular, with sour cherry fruit clad in herbal and spicy layers, and crisp acidity. 【A rare and intriguing red Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru from Ramonet, offering a delicate yet intense expression of Pinot Noir.】
🍴 This red 布根地 (Burgundy) Pinot Noir is an excellent match for duck, goose, and game birds. Given its red fruit and earthy notes, it would also pair beautifully with roasted poultry, mushroom risotto, or a selection of fine charcuterie.
🥂 A fascinating wine for a 布根地 (Burgundy) enthusiast's tasting, a special dinner exploring unique expressions of Pinot Noir, or a thoughtful gift for a collector seeking something distinctive.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Ramonet is a prominent wine producer in the Burgundy appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, France. Ramonet owns more than 15 hectares (37 acres) of vineyards. The primary grape variety is Chardonnay, with a small amount of Pinot Noir also planted. The estate's most important wines are made from Chardonnay from the area's grand cru vineyards, and are highly collectible, often selling for high prices at auction. Domaine Ramonet makes several red wines from Pinot Noir as well. Domaine Ramonet is now run by Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, following the death of their father Pierre in the mid-1990s.
