🏰 【Chambertin Grand Cru, one of Burgundy's most revered vineyards, produces powerful, age-worthy Pinot Noirs known for their profound depth, structure, and ability to evolve over decades.】 The 2010 Henri Rebourseau Chambertin Grand Cru, from a generally excellent vintage, is intensely colored and full-bodied. It offers a rich bouquet of red and black berries, wild cherry, and violet, complemented by notes of spices, tobacco, and humid wood. The palate is robust yet crisp, well-balanced, and leads to an intense, flavorful finish with hints of candied fruit and spices.
🍴 This majestic Grand Cru is an ideal match for noble dishes such as red meats, big game, or meats in rich red wine sauces. It also pairs beautifully with ripe or full-flavored cheeses, and autumn dishes like turkey with chestnuts.
🥂 The 2010 vintage is still relatively young for a Chambertin Grand Cru and has significant aging potential, often developing for 10 to 20 years or more. If enjoying now, decanting for 1-2 hours is recommended to allow its complex layers to unfold.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Henri Rebourseau is a well-regarded wine producer based in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin in the northern Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy's Côte d'Or heartland. The domaine produces principally red wines from the Pinot Noir variety. The estate began in the mid-19th century when Jean-Baptiste Rebourseau and his wife Louise-Victoire Philippon consolidated vineyard holdings. It was passed to his sons Émile and Henri, and in 1949 to Henri's son Pierre Rebourseau. In 1980, Pierre's grandson Jean de Surrel took over, shifting to organic and biodynamic viticulture. In 2018, Olivier and Martin Bouygues acquired a controlling share. Bénigne and Louis now manage the estate with Hervé Berland.
