🏰 The 1995 Henri Rebourseau Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a testament to Burgundy's enduring elegance, offering a 【classic expression of Pinot Noir from a revered Grand Cru vineyard】. While specific vintage reports for this exact wine are less common, 1995 in Burgundy was generally considered a good to very good vintage, producing wines with good structure and aging potential. Expect a wine that, with age, reveals complex aromas of red berries, forest floor, and subtle spice, evolving into more savory and earthy notes. The palate should be well-structured with fine tannins and a persistent finish, showcasing the depth and finesse characteristic of Clos de Vougeot.
🍴 This sophisticated red Burgundy is an exquisite match for traditional French dishes such as coq au vin, roasted duck breast with cherry sauce, or mushroom-based dishes like truffle risotto. For an Asian-inspired pairing, consider delicate Cantonese steamed fish with ginger and scallions, or a light soy-glazed pork belly.
🥂 An excellent choice for a formal dinner, a special celebration, or a contemplative tasting session with connoisseurs. It's a wine that rewards patience and appreciation for classic Burgundy.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Henri Rebourseau is a well-regarded wine producer based in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin in the northern Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy's Côte d'Or heartland. The domaine produces principally red wines from the Pinot Noir variety. The estate began in the mid-19th century when Jean-Baptiste Rebourseau and his wife Louise-Victoire Philippon consolidated vineyard holdings. It was passed to his sons Émile and Henri, and in 1949 to Henri's son Pierre Rebourseau. In 1980, Pierre's grandson Jean de Surrel took over, shifting to organic and biodynamic viticulture. In 2018, Olivier and Martin Bouygues acquired a controlling share. Bénigne and Louis now manage the estate with Hervé Berland.
