🏰news | features + short tasting note
Henri Rebourseau Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru 1993 is from one of Burgundy's most powerful and long-lived Grand Crus, known for its robust structure and complex aromatics. The 1993 Burgundy vintage was generally considered very good, producing classic, structured wines with good aging potential. This wine typically offers 【deep and powerful notes of dark cherry, blackcurrant, licorice, spice, and an earthy character, now developing complex tertiary aromas of truffle and leather with softened tannins】.

BACKGROUND
Domaine Henri Rebourseau is a well-regarded wine producer based in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin in the northern Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy's Côte d'Or heartland. The domaine produces principally red wines from the Pinot Noir variety. The estate began in the mid-19th century when Jean-Baptiste Rebourseau and his wife Louise-Victoire Philippon consolidated vineyard holdings. It was passed to his sons Émile and Henri, and in 1949 to Henri's son Pierre Rebourseau. In 1980, Pierre's grandson Jean de Surrel took over, shifting to organic and biodynamic viticulture. In 2018, Olivier and Martin Bouygues acquired a controlling share. Bénigne and Louis now manage the estate with Hervé Berland.
