Georges Mugneret Gibourg, Ruchottes Chambertin Grand Cru, 2015
🏰 The 2015 vintage in Burgundy was truly extraordinary, marked by a mild winter and spring that led to early and successful flowering, followed by dry and fierce temperatures in July. This Georges Mugneret Gibourg Ruchottes Chambertin Grand Cru 2015 presents an exquisite cherry red colour. On the nose, it's delicate, dominated by fruits of the forest and undergrowth fragrances with spicy hints. The palate reveals a wine rich in noble and silky tannins, showcasing outstanding richness and balance. Expect vibrant and energetic red cherry and raspberry fruit, a juicy mid-palate, and an airy minerality, complemented by earthy, smoky, and oaky notes. This wine is renowned for its 【sensual and refined expression of the Ruchottes terroir】, a quality famously captured by Henri Jayer's quote: "A Chambertin raised in Vosne." It has excellent aging potential and can be enjoyed for 10 to 20 years, with some suggesting it will be at its best from 2031.
🍴 For food pairings, this elegant red Burgundy shines alongside duck confit, beef in pastry crust, or sautéed mushrooms. It's also a superb match for roast duck, goose, or other game birds, and pairs wonderfully with local cheeses like Ami du Chambertin.
🥂 This Grand Cru is perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a special anniversary celebration, or as a thoughtful gift for a discerning Burgundy collector. Its complexity and aging potential make it ideal for a vertical tasting or a quiet evening of contemplation.
