🏰 The 2011 Ponsot Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru is a 【triumph over adversity, showcasing both vigor and subtlety from a challenging Burgundian vintage】. This Pinot Noir Grand Cru offers a fine bouquet of cherries, red plums, and earthy undertones, with incipient notes of grilled meat, coffee, and mustard seed. On the palate, it is deep, full-bodied, pure, and sappy, with fine focus, ripe yet robust tannins, and an excellent grip on a well-balanced, very long finish. Layers of rich dark cherry and ripe strawberry fruit are underpinned by earthy notes, with a lingering finish imbued with hints of spice and floral whispers, retaining impressive freshness.
🍴 This elegant and powerful red Burgundy is an excellent match for sophisticated dishes. Pair it with roasted duck, pan-seared game birds, or a classic coq au vin. It also complements mushroom-based dishes, truffle pasta, or aged, firm cheeses like Epoisses or Comté.
🥂 An outstanding wine for collectors and connoisseurs, ideal for a special celebration or a refined dinner. It has excellent longevity and is drinking beautifully now, but will continue to evolve. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F) after decanting for 1-2 hours to allow its intricate layers to unfold.
