🏰 【The 2019 Michel Bouzereau Meursault Les Tessons is a superb white Burgundy, offering more amplitude and a flattering profile than its counterparts, with an irresistible finish that leaves touches of red cherry and spice.】 The Bouzereau family has cultivated vines in Meursault for seven generations, with Jean-Baptiste now managing the 10.5-hectare estate. The Les Tessons vineyard is a small, highly regarded plot above Grands Charrons, with a good proportion of vines planted in 1958. The wine is aged for 16 to 18 months in barrels, with 25% new oak.
Expect a pale yellow color with a high-class nose, ripe yet balanced, featuring citrus lemon, sea spray, oyster shell, white peach, and hazelnut. The palate is very well balanced and pretty on the entry, offering apricot, mango, spicy notes, and a dense mid-palate leading to a lifted, lime-scented finish. Expect notes of butter, oak, vanilla, lemon, and stone fruit.
🍴 Pairs well with pork chops, charcuterie, hard cheese, seafood, chicken, turkey, pasta, and rich fish like salmon or tuna.
🥂 An excellent choice for a refined dinner, a special gathering, or for those who appreciate a complex and age-worthy white Burgundy. It has a cellaring potential of 2 to 12 years.
