🏰 The 2018 vintage in Burgundy was generally warm and sunny, producing ripe and generous wines. Vincent Dauvissat, though primarily known for his Chablis, also produces this intriguing Irancy, a red wine from the northern part of Burgundy. While specific notes for his 2018 Irancy are not widely published, wines from this appellation are typically made from Pinot Noir, often with a small percentage of César, a local grape that adds color and tannin. Expect a wine with vibrant red fruit aromas like cherry and raspberry, often complemented by earthy, spicy, and sometimes floral notes. The palate should be medium-bodied with good freshness, supple tannins, and a savory character that reflects its Burgundian origin. This Irancy offers a 【 unique expression of Pinot Noir from a lesser-known Burgundy appellation 】.
🍴 This red Burgundy is a versatile food partner. It pairs wonderfully with roasted chicken, duck breast, charcuterie, mushroom-based dishes, or lighter game. It can also complement mild cheeses and pasta dishes with tomato or meat sauces.
🥂 This wine is an excellent choice for a casual yet elegant dinner, a gathering with friends, or as an introduction to the diverse red wines of Burgundy beyond the Côte d'Or. Its approachable fruit and savory notes make it enjoyable in its youth, but it also has the potential to develop more complexity with a few years of cellaring.
