🏰 Alambre Moscatel de Setúbal 40 Years is a non-vintage fortified wine, a blend aged between 40 to 50 years in used oak barrels. It presents a very dark amber color with reddish tones, and a complex aroma profile of dried fruits, caramel, figs, and cloves. On the palate, it offers cinnamon, a fruity and soft texture, with a very long finish. Critics praise its intensity, freshness, and lingering finish, with notes of orange, honey, and spices. It has received high ratings, including 94 points from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. The Setúbal Peninsula offers unique conditions for producing these fortified Moscatel wines. 【 Exceptional complexity and depth from 40-50 years of barrel aging 】
🍴 Excellent with desserts, aged cheeses, fruit-based desserts, and dark chocolate. It can also be enjoyed as a pre-appetizer.
🥂 Perfect for special celebrations, intimate gatherings, or as a luxurious digestif after a fine meal. Its complexity makes it a conversation starter.
Serve at 16ºC (60.8ºF). While not a still wine, its age means it benefits from careful handling. Decanting is not typically required for fortified wines like this, but ensuring the bottle has been stored upright for some time before serving can help with any potential sediment.
