🏰 The 2017 Chateau Branaire Ducru, a Fourth Growth from Saint-Julien, is 【a beautifully balanced Bordeaux red, celebrated for its silky tannins and elegant length】. Despite a challenging vintage, this wine shows an expressive and refined profile. It has a medium to deep garnet-purple color, springing with savory notions of dried herbs, black olives, and beef drippings, over a core of cassis and black raspberries, plus a waft of cedar. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with fine, silky tannins and a freshness that gives energy and lift, leading to a long, minerally, and elegant finish, revealing complexity over time.
🍴 This elegant Saint-Julien pairs wonderfully with roast rack of lamb, ribeye steak, venison or other game dishes, or a classic stewed chicken with Herbes de Provence. It also complements Gruyere or Comte cheese.
🥂 An excellent choice for a formal dinner, a celebration, or a thoughtful gift for a Bordeaux lover, as it's a pleasing young red that will continue to evolve beautifully.
