This elegant Chambolle Musigny would be exquisite with Cantonese roast goose, where its acidity can cut through the richness, or with pan-seared duck breast with a cherry reduction. For a Western pairing, consider a delicate mushroom risotto or a classic coq au vin. It also pairs beautifully with aged Comté cheese.

BACKGROUND
Domaine Ghislaine Barthod is one of the most prominent producers in the Chambolle-Musigny appellation of Burgundy, known for its intense, ageworthy wines from the Pinot Noir grape variety. The estate was founded by Marcel Noëllat in the early 20th century. Marcel's daughter married Gaston Barthod, an officer in the French army stationed in Dijon. They developed the domaine together over the decades. After Gaston's death in 1999, their daughter Ghislaine took over, having managed the estate for the previous decade. Ghislaine and her partner Louis Boillot combine vineyard work across their respective domaines, but the estates are run separately and the wines are produced in their respective wineries.
