Ghislaine Barthod, Chambolle Musigny Les Fuees 1er Cru, 2014
🏰The 2014 Ghislaine Barthod Chambolle Musigny Les Fuees 1er Cru is a highly anticipated release from a producer known for crafting 【Burgundy Pinot Noir of exceptional purity and finesse】. This vintage is celebrated for its vibrant acidity and elegant structure, offering a captivating aromatic profile of red berries, violets, and a subtle earthy minerality. On the palate, it's beautifully balanced with silky tannins and a long, perfumed finish, showcasing the classic charm of Chambolle-Musigny.
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy pairs wonderfully with pan-seared duck breast with cherry reduction, roasted guinea fowl, or a delicate mushroom risotto. For an Asian twist, consider Cantonese-style steamed fish with ginger and spring onion, or a light char siu.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a romantic evening, or as a thoughtful gift for a discerning wine lover.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Ghislaine Barthod is one of the most prominent producers in the Chambolle-Musigny appellation of Burgundy, known for its intense, ageworthy wines from the Pinot Noir grape variety. The estate was founded by Marcel Noëllat in the early 20th century. Marcel's daughter married Gaston Barthod, an officer in the French army stationed in Dijon. They developed the domaine together over the decades. After Gaston's death in 1999, their daughter Ghislaine took over, having managed the estate for the previous decade. Ghislaine and her partner Louis Boillot combine vineyard work across their respective domaines, but the estates are run separately and the wines are produced in their respective wineries.
