FEATURES
🏰Trimbach's 1996 Riesling Cuvée Frédéric Emile is an absolute killer bone dry Riesling in its fully developed glory, showcasing 【Trimbach's reputation at the summit of dry white winemaking】. The 1996 vintage in Alsace was characterized by electric acidity, making for wines of noteworthy purity and tension. This wine offers a bright and vibrant nose with scents of lemon, pineapple, petrol, salty soil tones, and orange peel. On the palate, it's deep, full-bodied, fresh, and bouncy, with an excellent core of fruit, lovely soil signature, and bright acids. Expect complex aromatics of herb, citrus, ginger, and tea, with a wonderful glycerine feel and a dizzying swirl of crackling acidity and stone. It's a beautiful mature Alsatian Riesling, now mouthfilling rather than linear, still enlivened by excellent acidity.
🍴 Cantonese food pairing: 清蒸石斑 (Steamed garoupa), 鹽焗雞 (Salt-baked chicken), 避風塘炒蟹 (Typhoon shelter crab). Western food pairing: Seafood platters, roasted poultry, Asian fusion cuisines, mature goat cheese.
🥂 fit for event suggestion: A sophisticated tasting with fellow Riesling enthusiasts, a celebratory meal featuring delicate seafood or poultry, or a special occasion to appreciate a perfectly aged dry white wine. This wine is drinking beautifully now and still has life.
BACKGROUND
Trimbach is one of the oldest wineries in the French wine region of Alsace, dating back to 1626. Alongside Riesling, Trimbach has a range of classic Alsace varieties planted in its vineyards, including Sylvaner, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Muscat and Pinot Noir. The portolio covers a range of styles, but dry, ageworthy wines with great minerality are Trimbach's specialty. The house makes a few Vendages Tardives and Selection de Grains Nobles wines, as well as some Eaux-de-Vie.
