🏰 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe is a legend of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, known for crafting wines that express the stony, windswept plateau of La Crau with 【finesse, minerality, and longevity】. The 2023 vintage, though young, is already showing great promise. This red blend displays a deep ruby-red color with purple reflections. Expect a captivating bouquet of 【wild red berries, crushed raspberry, fresh cherry, garrigue herbs, thyme, violet, and subtle notes of crushed stone and wet earth】. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied with extraordinary purity and balance, silky tannins, and a long, lifted, refined finish with saline minerality.
🍴 This gastronomic wine is built for the table, pairing beautifully with lamb, classic meat dishes like roasted beef or game, and hearty stews. Its balance of fruit, earth, and minerality makes it a versatile partner for both refined and rustic cuisine.
🥂 A highly anticipated release for collectors and Rhône lovers, this 2023 is destined to age gracefully for two decades or more, making it excellent for a grand dinner or a special celebration.
BACKGROUND
The old telegraph factory (Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe) is located in the Chateauneuf-du-Pape area of the southern Rhône region. Vieux Télégraphe has been owned by the Brunier family for over 100 years and is one of the most renowned producers in the region. Most of its vineyards are planted with red grape varieties, of which Grenache is the most important grape variety in the region, but a small proportion of white wine is also used to produce Chateauneuf-du-Pape white wine. The best fruit comes from the La Crau plateau, which is higher than many other vineyards in the region and famous for its pudding stone, which makes up 70% of the soil composition and can reach a depth of 5 meters (16 feet).
