Meo Camuzet, Chambolle Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru, 2021
🏰The 2021 Meo Camuzet Chambolle Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru is a 【highly acclaimed Premier Cru Burgundy from a historic Côte d'Or producer】, known for crafting powerful yet refined Pinot Noirs. The 2021 vintage in Burgundy, while challenging, yielded wines of freshness, purity, and elegance. This particular wine is perfumed and floral, with notes of violets, red cherry, and raspberry, underpinned by a mineral/iron backbone and light savory spice. The palate is elegant and mid-weight with silky, fine-grained tannins and a saline, lingering finish. It offers a light and vibrant nose, where dark cherries and fresh raspberries combine with subtle anise and delicate oak.
🍴 This elegant Chambolle Musigny pairs beautifully with roast duck, coq au vin, mushroom risotto, and beef bourguignon. It also complements Western charcuterie and soft cheeses, as well as Asian dishes like Peking duck, soy/miso-glazed salmon, teriyaki chicken, mushroom hot pot, and grilled shiitake and pork gyoza.
🥂 An excellent choice for a sophisticated dinner party, a special anniversary, or a thoughtful gift for a Burgundy lover. Its balance of fruit, minerality, and elegance makes it enjoyable now with decanting, but it also possesses the structure to age gracefully.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Meo-Camuzet is located in the village of Vosne-Romanee, France. The estate employs organic fertilizers and advanced cultivation techniques to maintain ecological balance in the vineyards. Coupled with the exceptional terroir and the legacy of Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicholas' efforts have elevated the estate to a top-tier winery in just a few decades. In 2003, Jean-Nicholas founded the négociant business Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs. Although the grapes are purchased, the team personally supervises the vineyards to ensure the quality of the grape sources.
