Bernard Dugat Py, Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru, 1997
Red
750ml
Label : Very Slightly Bin Stained Label
Level : Neck Level Filled
🏰 Bernard Dugat-Py's Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is a highly sought-after Burgundy, known for its intensity, concentration, and profound expression of terroir, even in a challenging vintage like 1997. The 1997 Burgundy vintage was generally considered good, though not exceptional, with some producers making very fine wines through careful selection. While specific 1997 tasting notes for this wine were not found, Bernard Dugat-Py's Charmes-Chambertin is known for its deep color, concentrated dark fruit, earthy notes, and firm structure, with significant aging potential. A 1997 would be mature, showing tertiary aromas of forest floor, game, and dried spices.
🍴 Excellent with roasted game birds (pigeon, pheasant), duck breast, mushroom risotto, or aged hard cheeses. For Asian cuisine, consider a rich Cantonese braised pigeon or a Japanese duck hot pot.
🥂 A superb choice for a special occasion, a serious Burgundy tasting, or a gift for a discerning collector.
Kindly reminder: For a wine of this age, expect a very evolved and delicate profile. The condition of the cork and capsule should be carefully checked upon opening. Decanting is recommended to remove any sediment and allow the wine to breathe, revealing its full character.
