FEATURES
🏰The 2021 vintage for Georges Noellat's Vosne-Romanee wines is characterized by a lighter, more energetic style, a delightful contrast to the denser 2020s, offering vivid acidity and hedonistic intensity. This Georges Noellat Vosne Romanee Les Chaumes 1er Cru 2021 is a 【sensual and sexy expression of Vosne-Romanee】, with an explosion of Vosne spices. It presents a medium weight with medium-plus acidity, and on the palate, pretty red cherry notes build towards a savory finish. Expect profound, faintly tobacco-spiced aromas, a broad and silky texture, and an extra salinity that adds to its textual sophistication.
🍴 This elegant Pinot Noir is a superb match for beef, game, poultry, and veal. Its delicate yet complex profile also complements mushroom-based dishes and fine charcuterie.
🥂 Currently in an adolescent phase, this wine is not for immediate consumption if seeking peak maturity, but promises to be absolutely delightful after 8-10 years. It's a wine to wait for, ideal for a special occasion in the future, or for those who enjoy exploring Burgundy's evolution. Waiting 3+ years is recommended.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Georges Noellat is a Burgundy winery located in Vosne-Romagne, famous for its Pinot Noir wine. Maxime Scheurlin, the 20-year-old grandson of George's wife, took over the estate from George's wife and made his debut with the excellent 2010 vintage. Prior to this, most of the winery's production was sold in bulk to négociant companies. Today, the domaine owns approximately 10 hectares (25 acres) of vineyards, spanning Vonn and neighboring communes, with a further ten hectares acquired through purchase and lease agreements. Of course, the domaine is still best known for its prized assets in Vosne, which include the Echezaux and Grands Echezaux parcels.
