🏰 The 2003 Pegau Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reserve is widely 【considered one of the all-time great wines crafted by Laurence Feraud and Paul Feraud, representing a complete triumph for the challenging 2003 vintage】. Despite the difficulties of the 2003 vintage, this wine shows none of the problematic notes often associated with it, presenting as a full-bodied, powerful wine with high natural alcohol (around 15.5-16%). It boasts a showstopping nose of red fruits, garrigue, plums, and pepper. On the palate, it offers a medium body with exquisite acidity, clean, elegant, and refined, revealing kirsch, roasted herbs, dried cherries, and a hint of white pepper. Expect dark, rich, and meaty characteristics with licorice, garrigue, roasted meat, pepper, leather, and earthy notes. It delivers amazingly rich fruit, stunning texture, massive sweet tannins, and incredible length. The wine displays a dark plum/garnet color with classic Provençal garrigue, lavender, pepper, kirsch, and Asian plum sauce. Further notes include black raspberries, black cherries, and blackberries with licorice, leather, tobacco, and spice.
🍴 This exceptional Châteauneuf-du-Pape pairs beautifully with robust dishes. While noted with Chicken Parmesan, it would also excel with roasted meats, lamb, beef, and game.
🥂 An outstanding wine for a grand celebration, a serious tasting, or a memorable dinner. It is drinking exceptionally well now and possesses the structure to continue evolving for another 5-25 years.
