🏰Didier Dagueneau's Pouilly-Fumé Silex is legendary for its intense minerality and age-worthiness, a benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc. The 2009 vintage was a great year for the Loire, with healthy fruit and excellent quality, especially for Sauvignon Blanc. This wine, which always needs time to fully blossom, offers a 【complex bouquet merging varietal notes of freshly cut grass and gooseberries with cream, stone fruit, buttery, caramel, and honey notes】. The palate is medium to full-bodied with good acidity and richness, showcasing fresh vegetal notes, citrus, lime, and ripe pineapple, leading to a medium to long finish.
🍴 This outstanding Pouilly-Fumé is an ideal partner for Western dishes like grilled fish, oysters, shellfish, or goat cheese. For an Eastern culinary experience, consider delicate steamed seafood, fresh spring rolls, or light dim sum.
🥂 An excellent choice for a sophisticated seafood dinner, a special summer gathering, or a thoughtful gift for a Sauvignon Blanc aficionado. It is drinking beautifully now but will easily hold for another decade.
