🏰 The 2019 vintage for Vin de Savoie Chignin-Bergeron Blanc is widely regarded as exceptional. This particular Cuvée Euphrasie from Adrien Berlioz is crafted from 100% Roussanne (known locally as Bergeron) grown on 30-year-old vines in the 'Grand Buisson' lieu-dit, a steep, south-east facing vineyard with clay and limestone soils in Arbin. The domaine has been certified organic since 2012 and biodynamic since 2020. 【Certified organic and biodynamic viticulture with an annual production of only 2,000 bottles】.
This white wine presents a complex aromatic profile of ripe apricot, fresh vanilla, acacia, and a hint of toastiness. On the palate, expect stone fruit notes like ripe apricot and yellow peaches, complemented by a fleshy texture and racy acidity, leading to a persistent finish. Further nuances include floral and herbal notes, lime, fresh melon, green papaya, nectarines, and a touch of nuttiness from its aging in 50% acacia and 50% oak barrels. It offers richness balanced by piercing acidity and can be enjoyed now or aged for another 5-8 years.
🍴 This gastronomic wine pairs beautifully with roast chicken, grilled fish in sauce, or white fish. It also complements hearty, Savoie-inspired fish chowder.
🥂 Ideal for a special private dinner or as a comforting, yet refreshing, white wine for winter evenings. Its complexity and elegance make it suitable for discerning palates seeking a unique alpine expression.
