FEATURES
🏰 Domaine Adrien Berlioz is nestled in the picturesque Savoie region of France, with vineyards often on steep slopes reaching a 50% gradient. The winery has been organically certified since 2012 and biodynamically certified since 2020. The 'Cuvée des Gueux' is crafted from hand-harvested Jacquère and Altesse grapes from 20-50 year old vines in the "Les Chateaux" vineyard, known for its unique terroir of clay and silty limestone. The winemaking process involves direct pressing, gravity vinification, natural fermentation, and aging in stainless steel tanks.
The 2021 'Cuvée des Gueux' offers expressive aromatics of ripe apple, nashi pear, lemon peel, and notes of honey. The palate is lively and electric, leading with ripe green apple and pear, showcasing a rich and intensely textured wine with charming acidity and length. It possesses qualities similar to a Loire Chenin Blanc, with a unique combination of Jacquère and Altesse. Other tasting notes include white peach, citrus, minerality, salinity, wet stones, lemon zest, meadow wildflowers, subtle stonefruit, hazelnut, and a chewy mineral crunch on the finish. It is described as subtle, elegant, with exceptional freshness and vibrant liveliness. Alcohol content is typically around 10%. 【Unique blend of Jacquère and Altesse from biodynamically farmed, steep Savoie vineyards, offering distinctive alpine freshness and minerality】.
