🏰 The 2008 Trapet Chambertin Grand Cru is an elegant Burgundy from one of the most prestigious vineyard sites, known for its 【power and finesse, embodying the estate's biodynamic philosophy】. The 2008 vintage, though climatically challenging, rewarded meticulous winemakers with wines of remarkable freshness and longevity. This wine displays a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits like cherry and raspberry, underpinned by violet, earth, fine spice notes, and a hint of undergrowth. On the palate, it is elegant and multi-layered with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish, revealing notes of dark berries, leather, and tobacco.
🍴 This classic Grand Cru Pinot Noir demands dishes that respect its complexity. Excellent pairings include wild boar roast with forest mushrooms, braised lamb shank with Provençal herbs, roasted pigeon, venison loin with wild herbs, or a mature Époisses or Comté cheese.
🥂 A truly special wine for a significant celebration, a high-end tasting, or a memorable gift for a Burgundy connoisseur. Its age-worthiness and historical significance (once Napoleon's favorite wine) make it a profound choice for a contemplative evening.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Trapet is a wine company comprised of two estates, one in Alsace, the other in Burgundy. The company in its current dual-region configuration formed when Andrée Trapet inherited her parents' vineyards in Alsace in 2002. Her husband Jean-Louis has run Domaine Trapet Père et Fils in Gevrey-Chambertin since 1990, when he took over from his father Jean.
