🏰 The 2024 Yann Bertrand Morgon Iron is an 【energetic and pure expression of Gamay from iron-rich granitic soils】, crafted by one of Beaujolais' most exciting young biodynamic vignerons. This "Iron" cuvée comes from a 0.70-hectare plot at 'Bas Douby' in Morgon, where the high iron and shallow manganese content in the soil imparts a distinctive minerality. As a very recent vintage, early notes describe a bright, lifted Gamay with aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, and crushed violets over a subtle ferrous minerality. The palate is sleek and vibrant, with lively red fruit framed by fine, elegant tannins and a stony, iron-tinged edge that gives precision and drive, finishing long and savory with a mineral snap.
🍴 This versatile and food-friendly wine pairs excellently with roast white meats, braised dishes, red sauces, pork, and pasta. Its juicy texture and subtle spice also make it a great match for Asian dishes like lacquered duck or stir-fried noodles with mushrooms.
🥂 Ideal for casual gatherings, weeknight dinners, or a lively brunch, its energetic and pure style makes it enjoyable young, offering a clear expression of its unique terroir.
