FEATURES
🏰The 1992 vintage in Burgundy was challenging, but a Vosne Romanee La Grande Rue from Francois Lamarche, a monopole, can still offer a 【delicate and evolved expression of Pinot Noir】. Expect notes of dried red fruits, forest floor, subtle spice, and a hint of truffle, showcasing the elegance that can emerge from older Burgundy. While specific tasting notes for the 1992 are scarce, older vintages of La Grande Rue are known for their aromatic complexity and silky texture.
🍴 Chinese Cantonese food pairing: This elegant red Burgundy would pair beautifully with Cantonese roasted squab, braised pigeon with mushrooms, or delicate pan-fried beef tenderloin. For a Western pairing, consider roasted duck breast with cherry sauce or mushroom risotto.
🥂 fit for event suggestion: An exceptional choice for a special anniversary dinner or a sophisticated tasting among Burgundy enthusiasts. Remember to check the cork and capsule carefully, as older vintages can be delicate.
BACKGROUND
François Lamarche is a historic winery located in the village of Vosne-Romanée, France. The primary grape variety is Pinot Noir. The winery was founded in the early 20th century by Henri Lamarche and his wife, Marie Grivelet, both of whom hailed from Burgundy and had extensive experience in wine production. In 2019, the current owner, Nicole Lamarche, officially renamed the winery to Domaine Nicole Lamarche, and from the 2018 vintage onwards, the wines no longer bear the name of the former owner, François Lamarche.
