FEATURES
🏰 The 2004 Domaine Jacques Prieur Musigny Grand Cru is a 【powerful and complex expression from a challenging vintage, showcasing the winemaker's meticulous skill and offering a rich, velvety experience with notes of black fruit, spice, and a hint of appealing greenness】. Despite a cool and grey summer, a splendid September with excessive sunshine allowed for perfect grape ripening. The success of this vintage is attributed to continuous, demanding, careful, and precise winemaking, with the wine aged entirely in oak barrels for 21 months.
👃 This Grand Cru displays a beautiful, deep, intense reddish-black color. The nose is fine and delicate, with fresh forest fruit, ripe black fruit (blackcurrant, blueberry), subtle pepper, chocolate, violet, spice, warm earth, and dried rose petals. A hint of spearmint or greenness, typical of 2004 布根地, is present but appealing. The palate is rich, round, distinctly sweet, velvety, and suave, with fruity (black cherry, blackcurrant), toasty, and elegantly spicy flavors, complemented by chocolate and licorice nuances. It boasts fine, ripe, silky tannins on the aftertaste and an impressively long finish with plenty of power.
🍴 This Musigny Grand Cru pairs exceptionally well with veal, game (deer, venison), duck, goose, and various game birds.
🥂 A superb choice for a special dinner, a serious 布根地 tasting, or a thoughtful gift for a discerning collector.
This wine is drinking well now but can continue to evolve, with an anticipated drinking window from 2012 onwards. Serve at 16-18°C. Decanting for an hour might be beneficial to allow its complex aromas to fully open up.
