🏰 The 2006 vintage for Tuscany was excellent, with a generous harvest despite unpredictable weather. It was a year that produced full-bodied and alcoholic wines with rich, opulent fruit and on-point acidity. The best examples had the refined character and capacity to age for many years. Castello di Ama's Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Bellavista 2006, originally produced for home consumption, served as the drawing board for the Gran Selezione category. This wine is known for its compact, traditional characteristic, offering smooth, sophisticated appeal. Aromas include white cherry, dried raspberry, tar, licorice, and root beer. The palate is incredibly balanced with fruit, earthy flavors, acidity, and fine tannins, leading to a beautiful finish with lovely minerality. It's a powerful and masculine wine, without losing elegance, and possesses a beautiful balance that ages beautifully. 【The 2006 Castello di Ama Vigneto Bellavista is an exceptional, age-worthy Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, showcasing a profound balance of power and elegance.】
This 2006 vintage is now gracefully mature, offering a complex tapestry of tertiary aromas and flavors. While still vibrant, older wines can be delicate. Expect some sediment, a natural part of its aging journey. Handle with care, as old corks can be fragile. We recommend standing the bottle upright for at least 24 hours before serving to allow any sediment to settle. Decant gently for 1-2 hours to allow the wine to breathe and reveal its full aromatic spectrum, but be mindful not to over-decant, as very old wines can fade quickly. Serve at around 16-18°C (60-64°F).
🍴 This mature Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is an ideal partner for rich, slow-cooked Italian dishes such as osso buco, wild boar ragu with pappardelle, or a classic Florentine steak. For a refined Eastern pairing, consider braised duck with dried mushrooms or a savory lamb stew.
🥂 Perfect for a milestone anniversary, a special family gathering, or a connoisseur's tasting. It's a wine that invites reflection and appreciation of its long journey.
