🏰 The 1995 vintage in Côte-Rôtie was exceptional, with Marcel Guigal himself believing it could be his greatest vintage for Côte-Rôtie. The E. Guigal La Turque 1995 is considered prodigious, sweet, dense, complete, and exotic, with smoky, jammy blackcurrant and raspberry-scented notes. Robert Parker rated it 100 points, describing it as a "tour de force in winemaking" with magnificent perfume and at least two decades of longevity. Stephen Tanzer noted powerful aromas of roasted cherry and raspberry, marzipan, brown spices, and grilled nuts, with a ripe, creamy, and lush palate. 【 A legendary 100-point masterpiece by Robert Parker 】.
🍴 This powerful and complex Côte-Rôtie is a superb match for rich, savory dishes. Think grilled ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce, slow-roasted lamb shanks, venison stew, or roasted duck breast with an apple glaze. Its spicy and gamey notes also complement cured meats and aged cheeses.
🥂 This is a wine for truly momentous occasions and serious collectors. Ideal for a grand celebration, a significant anniversary, or a dedicated tasting session with fellow enthusiasts to appreciate its profound depth and evolution.
BACKGROUND
E Guigal is one of the most famous wine producers in the Rhône. The company was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis on the west bank of the Rhone, just a stone's throw from the famous sun-baked slopes of the Côte Rôtie. Guigard's flagship wines are the famous "LaLa": La Landonne, La Mouline and La Turque. La Landonne is 100% Syrah, from 40-year-old vines and aged in oak barrels for a similar amount of time.
