FEATURES
🏰 The 1981 vintage for Champagne faced challenging conditions, including severe frosts in April and hailstorms in May, which significantly reduced yields. Despite this, Krug crafted their 1981 Vintage Brut with incisive freshness and hints of citrus in its youth, with the 'grand blancs' showing outstanding character. Now part of the esteemed Krug Collection, this Champagne has entered its 'second life,' revealing distinct and different flavours and aromas, truly telling an entirely new story. Krug is renowned for producing only exceptional cuvées, and their wines are celebrated for their monumental richness and incredible longevity. 【Second life as Krug Collection with distinct and different flavors and aromas】

Serving Advice: Given its age, handle this bottle with the utmost care. The cork may be fragile, so consider using a two-pronged Ah-So opener or a Durand. Decant only if necessary to remove sediment, and for a very short period, to preserve its delicate effervescence. Serve between 9°C and 12°C to allow its complex flavours and aromas to fully express themselves.
🏰 On the nose, it offers rare aromas of white truffle, sweet spices, ripe apples, and candied citrus, followed by mellow notes of apricot and honey. The palate is unctuous and generous, with remarkable volume and opulence, culminating in an extremely long finish that leaves a lasting impression of elegance and distinction. Despite its age, it remarkably retains its original freshness and vivacity. Some tasters also find notes of toffee, caramel, green apple, and a creamy texture with hints of cappuccino and milk chocolate.
🍴 It pairs ideally with fresh white fish, shrimps, or lobster, especially with light lemongrass, mango, or slightly spicy sauces. It's also a delightful match for carrot cake, aged Comté cheese, autumn fruit desserts, or orange and ginger soufflé. Generally, Krug Champagne is exceptionally versatile, complementing a wide range of dishes from baked fish to creamy appetizers.
