1.5L
Label : Stained Damaged Label
Level : Base Neck Level Filled
Vintage difficult to read but legible
🏰Les Forts de Latour 1993, the distinguished second wine of the 1er Grand Cru Classé Château Latour, is a 【refined and elegantly aged Bordeaux】 from a cool and rainy vintage. It reveals a magnificent ruby color and a nose expressing black fruits, brandy-soaked plums, candied cherries, cigar boxes, and leather, with nuances of sweet spices emerging after aeration. The palate offers a supple and silky attack, with perfectly aged tannins supporting an elegant and balanced body where mature black fruit combines with discreet freshness, leading to a persistent and refined finish marked by noble wood and a smoky touch. Expect savory characteristics, cedar, graphite, dried cassis, tobacco, and forest floor. It is best enjoyed now with a decanting period of 30 to 45 minutes.
🍴 Superb with classic meat dishes such as roasted beef, lamb, or game. Also pairs well with aged hard cheeses.
🥂 An excellent choice for a special occasion, a vertical tasting of Latour wines, or as a sophisticated gift for a Bordeaux collector.
BACKGROUND
Chateau Latour is one of Bordeaux's wines and the world's most famous wine producers. It is situated in the southeast corner of the Pauillac commune on the border of Saint- Julien, in the Medoc region. Typically for the region, Cabernet Sauvignon dominates in the vineyard, accounting for around 80 percent of plantings. Merlot makes up most of the remainder, and there are also small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The grand vin is only made from the vineyard plots surrounding the chateau and shown on the 1759 plan of the domaine. Latour makes two other wines: Les Forts de Latour and Pauillac de Latour, both of which are made from younger vines.
