The 2023 布根地 (Burgundy) vintage is characterized by a brilliant pale yellow color, with a generous harvest allowing for thorough sorting. This wine offers an open bouquet of woody aromas, accompanied by vanilla, toast, russet apples, and hazelnuts. The palate is round, smooth, and velvety, with a beautiful breadth and a subtle hint of ginger-like spice. Expect delicate aromas of white flowers, ripe pear, and a subtle hint of hazelnut, leading to a fresh, balanced, and lingering, slightly buttery finish with beautiful minerality.

This opulent white 布根地 (Burgundy) is a perfect match for rich and creamy dishes. Consider prawn cocktail with avocado, grilled sea bass, or a stew of veal in a cream sauce. It also excels with roasted free-range chicken with herbs, salmon en croute, or aged cheeses like Beaufort or Epoisses. For an Eastern pairing, try it with a rich Cantonese steamed crab with egg white or a creamy seafood congee.

BACKGROUND
Domaine Bernard-Bonin is a wine producer based in the town of Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune sub-region in the heart of Burgundy's Côte d'Or. Most of the winery's vineyards are located in the Meursault region, many of which are First Cru level, and it also owns some plots in neighboring Puligny-Montrachet. The estate produces only white wine, almost exclusively Chardonnay. In 1998 the domaine was taken over by husband-and-wife team Nicolas Bernard and Véronique Bonin, who manage 7 hectares (17 acres) of vineyards, including plots of Meursault's Genevrères and Charmes Premier Crus. Bernard-Bonin uses biodynamic methods and the estate has been certified organic since 2015.
