Jean Jacques Confuron, Cote De Nuits Villages Les Vignottes, 2018
🏰From a family-owned domain in the heart of Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, renowned for traditional know-how and consistent quality, the Jean Jacques Confuron Cote de Nuits Villages Les Vignottes 2018 is a vibrant expression of Pinot Noir. This vintage, from a generally good and ripe year in Burgundy, offers a fresh and aromatic nose with notes of 【fresh red fruits like cherry and raspberry, complemented by floral hints of violet】. The palate is balanced and fresh, showcasing fine tannins and lively acidity, with a subtle spicy finish.
🍴 This versatile red Burgundy pairs beautifully with matured ribeye steak, herb-crusted rack of lamb, or rich cheeses like Époisses and creamy Brillat-Savarin. It also complements free-range poultry dishes with wild mushrooms, or classic meat dishes cooked in red wine sauces.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner, a gathering with friends, or any special occasion celebrating Burgundy's finesse. This wine can be enjoyed now but will gain complexity over a decade. Serve slightly chilled between 14-16°C (57-61°F), and decanting for 30 minutes is recommended when young to fully express its aromas.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jean Jacques Confuron is a wine producer located in Premeaux, near Nuits-Saint-Georges in the Côte de Nuits, Burgund, France. The viticultural portfolio is now approximately 95-percent Pinot Noir with small plantings of Chardonnay and Aligoté. The domaine has 8 hectares (19 acres) of vines across 14 appellations, including plots in the prestigious grand cru vineyards Clos de Vougeot and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. The domaine began with the marriage of Jean Confuron and Anne Marie Bouchard in 1926, bringing together the vineyards of two different families. These vineyards have been passed through the family since, and the domaine has expanded as well, picking up plots in the prestigious grand cru sites.
