🏰【A distinguished aged white Bordeaux from a top Graves producer, offering a unique expression of maturity and complexity】. The 1995 Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc, from Pessac-Leognan, showcases the remarkable aging potential of fine white Bordeaux. While specific detailed tasting notes for this exact vintage are not readily available, this wine, primarily a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, is known for its ability to develop incredible complexity with age. Expect a golden hue, with an aromatic profile that has evolved from vibrant citrus and floral notes to more profound aromas of honey, beeswax, toasted nuts, lanolin, and subtle oxidative notes, alongside dried apricot and a hint of minerality. The palate would likely be rich and textured, with a lingering freshness that balances its developed character.
🍴 This mature white Bordeaux is an exquisite pairing for rich seafood dishes, such as roasted lobster with butter sauce, pan-seared scallops, or grilled turbot. It also complements poultry in cream sauces, or even a sophisticated mushroom risotto.
🥂 This wine is a rare treat, perfect for a special occasion or for those who appreciate the intricate evolution of aged white wines. It offers a unique opportunity to experience the depth and character that only time can bestow upon a top-tier white Bordeaux.
