Joseph Drouhin, Beaune Clos Des Mouches Rouge 1er Cru, 2002
🏰 The 2002 Joseph Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches Rouge 1er Cru is a beautifully mature and harmonious expression of Burgundy Pinot Noir. Critics have lauded this vintage for its purity of fruit and underlying terroir, with notes of cherry, pomegranate, game, earth, and a touch of graphite. It has developed into a lovely effort with a perfumed nose of white flowers and dried white and yellow orchard fruit scents. The wine offers a savoury, expressive bouquet of raspberries, plums, dusty clay, spices, and tobacco leaf. 【 Perfectly mature and harmonious Burgundy Pinot Noir 】. It was noted to be drinking perfectly around 2013, but still holding well, showcasing excellent balance and harmony.
🍴 This elegant red Burgundy pairs wonderfully with classic dishes such as duck, goose, and other game birds. Its earthy and savory notes also make it an excellent match for wild mushroom dishes, roasted chicken, or even a delicate beef bourguignon. Consider aged, subtle cheeses to complement its developed complexity.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated dinner party, a special anniversary celebration, or a quiet evening appreciating a well-aged fine wine. Its maturity makes it a contemplative choice for wine enthusiasts.
BACKGROUND
